Wellsounds began as a research project over 20 years ago. It was born out of the rich, emotionally moving feelings I experienced hearing certain music. My goal in starting this newsletter is to help others experience the richness of finding their own inner soundscape. Once you find and use it, expect more avenues will open to personal and professional growth.
I've had a deep connection to music since I was 13. Like many youth, I was fortunate to take piano lessons at 10 years old. When reaching Jr. High, I joined the school band and was exposed to different types of music. For the first time, I experienced the feeling of playing in a larger group. This was the start of an incredible 10-plus years.
I continued my musical journey through high school and into college, where I majored in music. Throughout the four years of undergraduate study, I made a living, paying for school and other expenses through gigs, from rock bands to symphony orchestras.
We can all use different types of sound and music to improve the quality of our lives in small and large ways. Whether we use it to aid sleep, create an environment for study, or reduce stress, deeper listening can powerfully shift our physical energies.
Through the study of psychology, health, consciousness, and well-being, I believe each of us has the capability to tap into deeper dimensions of our soul, spirit, inner counselor, highest self, or whatever you call it, through the use of music and sound.
Through this newsletter, I hope to share more with you about sound and music for wellness and how it can change your life by facilitating a deeper connection to who you are.
